The New Year Has Arrived, Is Your Internet Marketing Business Ready?

The New Year Has Arrived, Is Your Internet Marketing Business Ready?

So, now we’re already a couple weeks into 2013. Time sure does fly, but one question you need to ask yourself is this…

Did you accomplish everything you wanted for your internet marketing business last year?

If you had a great year, what is your game-plan for your business this year? But, if you didn’t do as good as you hoped, what changes do you need to make a difference in 2013?

The truth is, the best thing you can do right now is set your goals and write them down! Most people don’t seem to understand the importance of writing down your goals…

So how do you set your goals? Ever notice that every year we are very energetic, motivated and excited when the new year arrives, but it seems to be short lived because that energy tends to die down after just a few weeks…

The problem is, this happens to almost everyone. Yeah, there are some ‘extraordinary people’ with natural talents that may not have this problem, but I’m willing to bet that you and I are just the same, so we have to face this head on every year.

Just go and ask a few people if they still remember what their goals were last year. Chances are they will have to stop and think about it before answering while still scratching their heads. This is because people forget their goals, that’s why I stress that you write them down.

Here’s a few more tips to help you achieve your goals…

Know Your Goals Time Frames.

First, you must have a good understanding of the time frame for your goals. There are long-term goals, short-term goals and goals in between…

For long-term goals, you can usually get away with setting it in your mind, and that is usually enough. For example, your long-term goal could be to become financially free to live in your dream location. Goals like these are usually hard to forget, but even so, I would write it down anyway.

You should have a clear long-term goal first before you can start setting your other goals. When you’re clear about your end-game, you will have a much easier time setting your short-term and mid-term goals.

Mid-term goals are usually what you want to achieve every year, and short-term goals should be roughly every 3 months or less. This way, you can map out your path to success in the internet marketing industry.

You Have To Be Crystal Clear.

So sticking with my example above, now you know you want to be financially free… How much money do you need? How soon do you want to get there? These are all important questions you need to ask yourself when setting your goals. You must write down as many details as you can and be crystal clear of what you want. Some experts say you should visualize your main goal, this is a great way to get a clear picture of what you want.

Be Realistic.

You must have realistic goals. Don’t go crazy setting a bunch of goals you can’t actually achieve.

When you truly believe that it’s actually possible to make it happen, that’s when you can follow your plans carefully and achieve your goals one at a time. You should be passionate so you don’t get discouraged and easily forget what’s important. You cannot acheive your goals if you’re not not passionate about them, and if you don’t believe you could achieve them. You’ll probably just give up in the end with unrealistic goals.

Lay Out A Step By Step Plan.

Let’s talk about those short-term and mid-term goals. Your mid-term goals are the ones that get you closer to your main long-term goals every year, and your short-term goals are the ones that lay out the plans for your mid-term goals. That is a bit of a mouthful to say, but this way, you’ll have a step by step plan towards your goals in a very organized fashion.

Always Write Down Your Goals And Keep It In Sight.

At the top of this post, I talked about the main reasons that people don’t achieve their goals is because they forget them. That is why I am once again going to stress the importance of writing down your goals. Then you should keep them in sight at your desk so you can read them every day. This will constantly remind you on what is important to you, and it will help you ensure you meet your goals.

Set your goals right now, and take a vow to do everything you can to achieve them, then massive action! There is no reason why you cannot  achieve your goals. Always remember that the main rule is to be clear with what you want, it’s realistic and your passionate about it.

Finally, do your best to make a list of the tasks that you need to do every day to move closer to your goals. Write them down too, and review your goals every once in a while. This way, you won’t get distracted, and you’ll never forget what you set out to achieve this year!
